Getting your creative juices going can be a challenge. Sometimes it takes a stroke of luck and genius, but most of the time, all it takes is the right atmosphere to get that big ol’ brain of yours working. McCafé’s newest branch in BGC is a perfect example of the latter.
Nicely nestled in the Maybank Performing Arts Theater in the BGC Arts Center, the café is the first standalone McCafé and the second specially designed store, second from the picturesque McCafé in Tagaytay. The newly-minted café is a perfect blend of industrial, rustic, and artistic; with angular wall-to-ceiling windows, geometric lighting fixtures, and warm wooden tables.

If you’re looking to get some work done, this McCafé’s got the fuel to keep you going for hours. McDonald’s developed a special new menu specifically for McCafé, which is only available in the two new branches. And while the standard McDonald’s cup of joe is not bad at all, McCafé takes their coffee to a whole new level. They only use 100 percent Arabica beans, which, according to them, gives caramel notes and a medium body to the coffee. Best part is, your wallet won’t have to cry with the pretty affordable menu — and with everything from hot chocolate to iced lattes to frothy frappes, you’ll be wired to get all your work done for the day.
However, coffee simply isn’t enough to keep you going for the long haul; you gotta get some food in your stomach eventually. The croissants are soft and buttery with the perfect amount of flakiness, with a couple of filled options (ham and cheese, chocolate, ham and egg mayo) if you want a bit more heft to your bite. If you need something a bit more hearty, McCafé also offers ciabattas with either chicken pesto or tomato, egg mayo, and cheese to fill you up. If you’ve got a sweet tooth, don’t you worry: cookies, cheesecakes, and cinnamon buns are abound to keep your cravings satisfied.
Even though the café is right in the heart of what is now one of the metro’s busiest districts, the McCafé at the BGC Arts Center manages to keep things quiet and cozy, providing a safe haven for creatives, students, and people just looking to have a nice and quiet cup of coffee. So if you ever find yourself in a rut and need to get something done, McCafé is your newest one-stop shop.
