It takes twenty-eight pesos to Taco Vengo

Taco Vengo, our go-to taqueria, opened a second branch in SM Megamall, and as a way to celebrate, we can now enjoy our fave tacos at P28 each. Starting March 28 through April 4, go for multiple rounds of their pork cheek confit, honey soy chicken, crispy chicken, BBQ beef belly, crispy fish, and asian slaw tofu tacos for take-out from 12 noon to 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The catch: You can only order two tacos at a time. If you want more, you’ll have to line up again.

Any trip to Taco Vengo is always an experience. Their first branch was tucked in the United Alley Compound in Kapitolyo, a quaint container van filled with simple interiors, chill music, and even greater tacos. They dished out other Mexican faves like burritos, quesadillas and horchata but their “chwaffle” a la mode, a hybrid of churros and waffles, easily became everyone’s favorite. It’s the kind of restaurant you’d hear about and try for yourself, before convincing your friends to visit, if only to have another reason to go back.

Try their Spiked Specials like the Dark Rum Mojito for an extra kick to your day.

Since then, the restaurant moved to a bigger space in Williams Street, Mandaluyong and their original container van found its way to the second branch in SM Megamall. It may not be tucked in a quiet alley anymore, but the restaurant’s ambiance and their tacos are still as comforting as ever. Now with their tacos at Php 28 each for a limited period, Taco Vengo makes the daily grind in a busy city a little more bearable.

Must-tries include the Asian slaw tofu taco, tempura shrimp taco, and pork cheek confit taco.

Taco Vengo is located at the Upper Ground Floor, SM Megamall Building A, Mandaluyong City.
