For some of us, performing is second nature. When you were young, you’re the only person in class who wanted to be the next Mara in Mara Clara when you were asked, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” You even rehearsed Kathryn Bernardo’s (or Judy Anne Santos, depending on how old you are) lines with your cousin who secretly had maldita tendencies. You’re one of those kids who shamelessly performed during family Christmas parties for extra moolah. You know you’ve got star power and you took advantage of it.
Getting the celebrity status doesn’t always happen instantly. Not everyone can be a viral hit on YouTube or Dubsmash. Some people actually have to go to casting calls and audition for their part. Unless your parents are showbiz royalty, you won’t get that sought-after inaapi role right away.
There’s a process that needs to be followed before you can be an A-lister. No one can be ricocheted on top of the celebrity food chain. You need to go through your fair share of countless auditions, box office failures and awkward dance numbers in a Sunday variety show.
While you’re waiting for your big break, we created a snakes and ladders-inspired board game to warm you up with show business. All you need is a dice, a token –– you can cut out the ones we provided at the bottom of the board game –– and your hunger to stay at the top of you game. Think of this as practice for your future career. There’s nothing wrong with playing pretend especially if that is what you want to do for a living for the rest of your life.
