One Dream, One Korea, One Massive K-pop Concert

How do you get 7 K-pop super groups to perform in Manila? You’ll need one heck of a good cause, that’s how.

The One K Global Peace Concert in Manila saw some of the biggest K-pop stars align. As part of the One K Concert Global Tour, the one-night only K-pop concert was a display of global commitment to the reunification of the Korean people and world peace.

Held last March 2, 2017, the SM MOA Arena saw girl-group AOA (the lone roses among thorns) perform alongside boy-groups BTOB, B.A.P, B1A4 and K-pop legends CNBLUE, SHINee and internet sensation PSY.

The arena was packed to the rafters as B.A.P opened the show with a set of three hit songs, followed by B1A4’s Beautiful Target and Baby Goodnight. SHINee’s Minho and AOA’s Seolhyun were the night’s hosts segmenting the show into each group’s performances and some of the surprise special stages; a medley of top K-drama OST’s performed by AOA’s Choa, B1A4’s Sandeul, among others, but also, a special rendition of the Filipino classic Anak by BTOB’s Hyunsik and Eunkwang.

The ladies of AOA cut their set in half with a cute talk portion and fan service for fans before closing it out with their smash hit Heart Attack BTOB then CNBLUE (led by frontman Yonghwa and his huge Filipino fanbase) make way for one of two main events: members Key, Onew, Minho, Jonghyun and Taemin make SHINee complete in Manila for the first time with a medley of their top hits. By the end of the night, Internet meme-legend PSY closed out the show with a performance of his global single Gangnam Style.
