Saying goodbye is never easy but Clara Benin made sure to leave everything on a good note. It takes a lot for a young and still budding artist such as herself to decide to take a break from music and pursue other interests while she can. But with the help of Stages Digital, she celebrated her musical career the best way that she knows how with “Coming Home: A Clara Benin Concert.” Last July 29 and 30, Teatrino Theater in Greenhills was filled with fans, good singing and a lot of memories.
Besides performing her hit singles, spoken word artists such as Curtismith and Bobby Ecarma said a thing or two about what it means to go back and be at home. Clara also covered some of her favorite songs — a surprising selection that stretches beyond the typical pop songs in every millennial’s playlist. She even took the stage with other artists she has worked with, including fellow singer-songwriters Reese Lansangan, Rizza Cabrera and Keiko Necesario who helped her perform a hauntingly beautiful cover of Coldplay’s Magic. But nothing was more special than the time she shared the stage with her father — who has had his own fair share of time in the musical spotlight as a former member of Side A — to whom she owes her growth in the business.
While it will take some time before we hear new music from Clara again, Stages Digital covered the two-night concert to provide enough photo and video content to obsess over. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have some more reminiscing to do.
