What the light touches: A photo essay on Dingalan, Aurora

After making plans one night, my friend and I decided to head to Dingalan, Aurora. We were en route within hours, leaving our itinerary to chance while pursuing one agenda: to compose, capture, and depict what locals hailed as ‘the Batanes of the East.’ Despite the incredibly erratic weather brought by the Philippine Sea, there were snippets of light that kept us motivated. We were playing things by ear for the most part, but we powered through the uncertainty, and ultimately, ended up with moments worth sharing for a long time.” – Angelo Mendoza, photographer
