Attention, fellow people of the Internet. Starting today, there will be no more having to think of how to shorten your Very Important thoughts and rants on Twitter.

Yup — after 11 years, the social media platform has finally decided to expand its limit to 280 characters instead of the original 140. This is big news for those of us who are used to copy editing ourselves just to get our thoughts out there, even if it’s currently available to select users only.
