There was a moment last year when millennials, myself included, seem to be greatly invested in horoscopes. Zodiac signs became an ice breaker and gauging relationship compatibility with astrology became a thing. Astro Poets, our current favorite astrologers, gained 47 thousand followers in three months because of their campy twitter horoscopes.
Just last week, I saw an article about an astrological dating app called Align. This dating app uses an “astrogorithm” to match you with someone you’re compatible with based on your signs. Unfortunately unavailable in the country, we have to resort to our good old pal Google to check if we’re compatible with our special someone. As if my Virgo ex and Virgo boyfriend aren’t enough reasons for me to conclude that the bull is attuned with the virgins, I double-checked our compatibility rate online and found out that our signs are 73% compatible. All you have to do is input your birthdays, and the site will explain your dynamic in six aspects and rate your overall compatibility as a couple as well.
But how accurate are zodiac signs (and astrological calculators) when it comes to determining how compatible we are for one another? Does the Leo-Pisces’ 14% compatibility rate further prove that Selena and Justin’s relationship was really toxic? Rounding up four of our favorite celebrity couples, we put their zodiac signs to the test.
